Zac Dominguez returns to the UNO coaching staff for his third season. Dominguez is a former standout at Omaha Creighton Prep where he was a three-time Nebraska Class A state champion. He also wrestled at the University of Nebraska and at Nebraska-Omaha.

Dominguez has been very active in Greco and Freestyle wrestling. He trained at the United States Olympic Education Center in Michigan and was third at Greco University Nationals in 2000. In the summer of 2006, Dominguez placed seventh at the United States Open Greco Tournament.

In addition to his coaching duties at UNO, Dominguez also serves as the Greco head coach for the Iowa Wrestling Federation and was the head coach for the 2007 Junior and Cadet National teams.

Dominguez’ younger brother Eli was at two-time All-American for the Mavericks, placing second at 141 pounds as a senior and third in 2004. Eli was an assistant coach as UNO won its third-straight national title in 2006. Zac’s youngest brother Esai is a redshirt freshman this season for the Mavericks and qualified for the 2008 United States Olympic Trials.

Dominguez is the head coach of the Maverick Wrestling Club, which is open to all high school wrestlers. The club practices through the months of April, May, and June
