Wrestling involves the act of physical engagement between two competitors, in which each wrestler strives to gain an advantage over, or the control of, their opponent, especially with the intention of putting the opponent on their back.
The physical techniques that comprise the discipline of wrestling are the use of leverage, clinches, take-downs, holds, and joint-locks. You will learn how to take your opponent to the ground, and how to keep them there through position control. In addition, you will learn how to defend the takedown, as well as counters to gain control positioning. (Equipment: shorts, shirt, mouthpiece, kneepads, wrestling shoes are optional) |
